WILLIAM HILL SPORTS BOOK OF THE YEAR AWARD

WILLIAM HILL SPORTS BOOK OF THE YEAR AWARD

We have been working on the Bookie Prize since we started Riot in 2009, and our campaign for its 25th award was our biggest and best yet.

Doped, the 2013 winner of the world’s oldest and richest sports-writing prize was announced live on BBC Radio 4’s Front Row, amongst a room full of journalists and news crews.

Print coverage, which spanned the literary and sports pages, included the cover essay in Financial Times’s Life & Arts section, an ‘In Focus’ in Metro and two major spreads in Sport Magazine, as well as 40 further national news pieces and reviews. Broadcast coverage included interviews on Sky Sports, TalkSport and CNN, and the prize received extensive coverage online, from Daily Mail and the Guardian to The Huffington Post.
