Diversity data update November 2025

At Riot Communications, we are committed to publishing our diversity data once a year. This is something we do as part of our ongoing work to retain The Blueprint diversity mark – an industry mark of commitment to removing inequality and barriers to progression for Black, Asian, Mixed Race and Ethnic Minority communications professionals, which we are very proud to hold – and also because we believe it is best practice.

We ask staff to answer an anonymous survey that includes questions about all nine protected characteristics plus some additional questions that aim to gather insight into socio-economic background, which we also want to ensure is not a barrier to working at Riot.

As a small business, we aim to balance our desire to be transparent about our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion work with our wish to protect individual team members from feeling exposed by what we post. We offer ‘prefer not to say’ as a potential response for every question, but it is still important for us to consider this factor when sharing data from a small group, and this is the reason some of the points below are less specific than others.

Finally, we would like to note that we are a team of nine this year, as opposed to 10, as last year we had an additional team member covering a maternity leave. This affects our percentages.

Bearing these factors in mind, please see below the findings of our November 2025 staff survey.

  • Our age range has contracted since our last staff survey but remains in-line with industry norms.
  • 78% of our team are women, 22% are men.
  • We have some representation from the LGBTQ+ community.
  • We have people with a disability amongst the team.
  • 44% of the team consider themselves neurodiverse. (Note: While UK law generally considers neurodiversity to be a form of disability, we wanted to ask this question separately. Our hope is that this allows for both people who are neurodiverse and consider it a disability, and people who are neurodiverse and do not consider it a disability, to complete the survey in the way that feels right to them.)
  • 33% of the team are Black, Asian, Mixed Race or Ethnic Minority.
  • We have representation from at least two religions as well as individuals who are not religious.
  • 22% of the team are parents. This is down from 30% last year.
  • One of our team is a carer.
  • 44% of the team are married, in a civil partnership, or in a domestic partnership. 56% of the team have never been married or in a civil partnership.
  • 100% of the team have an undergraduate degree and 11% have a masters degree, doctorate or post graduate degree in addition.
  • Finally, we asked team members about the highest level of education their parents/guardians had completed by the time they were 19 years old. 22% reported this was secondary school, higher, or further education (A-Level/BTEC or equivalent). 56% reported this was an undergraduate degree and 22% reported this was a masters degree, doctorate or post graduate degree.

Our 2025 percentages are roughly in-line with 2024 figures, other than where noted above. Please find our November 2024 report here for reference.

We will report on our diversity data again in November 2026.
